Virtual Tour

Walk every room of Villa Luciérnaga in immersive 360°. Start at the front door and follow the tour through the villa from pool terrace to top-floor suites -- then step outside to discover the gardens, pathways, and grounds.

The Interior

Inside the Villa

Every room, every floor -- from the main entrance through the great room, bedrooms, Theater Room, bar, and bunk room.

Main Floor

Great Room

The soaring great room anchored by Valenzuela's reclaimed-wood feature wall -- built from the villa's own construction remnants. His large abstract canvas hangs in the adjacent dining hall above a ten-person table. This tour continues through the dining hall and the main kitchen with its copper hood and Murano glass art.

Main Floor

Main Terrace & Infinity Pool

The infinity pool opens to Tamarindo Bay, its edge dissolving into the horizon. A massive Guanacaste natural-edge slab table seats eight to ten for outdoor dining right at the water, with the barbecue and lounge seating steps away.

Lower Level

Jacuzzi Terrace

Directly outside the Theater Room's French doors: a private terrace with jacuzzi and fire pit. Sunset here -- the sky turning orange over the bay, sailboats at anchor below -- is the villa's signature evening experience.

Lower Level

Theater Room

A Matapalo chandelier hangs above a white U-shaped sectional. Motorized blackout shades drop behind linen curtains for true cinema darkness. The other wall is floor-to-ceiling French doors: the Pacific just beyond.

Lower Level

The Bar

A full bar with glowing onyx island, bamboo ceiling, and woven walls with copper leaf art -- views up toward the infinity pool and out to the Pacific.

Lower Level

Lower Terrace & Surroundings

The open-air spaces at the villa's lowest level -- lounge seating, the charcoal barbecue beside the bar, and the garden paths that wind the hillside below the pool deck, with the Pacific beyond.

Main Floor

Cook's Kitchen

The professional second kitchen behind the main gourmet kitchen -- built for catered events and in-villa chefs, keeping prep and cleanup out of sight. The main kitchen itself appears in the Great Room tour.

Lower Level

Gym & Massage

A private gym on the lower level, and the curtained outdoor massage alcove with its wall of brass candle holders and leaf-impression ceiling -- recovery and relaxation without leaving the property.

The Practical Spaces

What Makes a Long Stay Work

Two laundry rooms and secure parking -- the spaces nobody photographs but every group planning a week or more wants to see.

Main Entrance

Upper Garage

The two-car garage at the villa's main entrance, directly off the gate and the leaf-impressed concrete driveway.

Upper Level

Upper Laundry

A full laundry room on the bedroom level -- no hauling loads downstairs mid-stay.

Lower Level

Lower Laundry

The main laundry room. Extra towels, linens, and pillows live in its cabinetry.

The Grounds

Gardens & Grounds

The lush gardens and pathways, the two-story fountain courtyard, outdoor terraces, the lower-level bar, and the guest house area -- the parts of the property that still photos rarely capture.

Throughout

Gardens & Pathways

Lush tropical gardens with local fruit trees and flowering plantings wind between levels. Leaf-impressed concrete paths connect the upper gate to the terraces below. Howler monkeys visit.

Upper Level

Two-Story Fountain

Water cascades from three copper spigots down a full story to a courtyard of large ceramic urns below. The bas relief walls flanking it are Valenzuela's work. The entire tiled floor floods when the fountain runs.

Lower Level

Massage Alcove

A curtained outdoor alcove with massage table, a back wall of brass candle holders, a teak cabinet with stone vessel sink, and a leaf-impression ceiling -- Valenzuela's technique carried into a covered outdoor space.

Upper Gate

The Arrival

The firefly cutout gate. Leaf-impressed concrete driveway from gate to garage. The antique hand-carved Indian wood frame surrounding the copper front door. Open it and see the Pacific.

The Bedrooms

Individual 360° tours for each of the six sleeping spaces are embedded alongside their descriptions on The Villa page -- where architecture details, design notes, and the antique Thai panels put each room in context.
